America’s #1 Beach

Siesta Key Beach Portraits on Pure Quartz Sand

Siesta Key’s sand is 99% pure quartz — powder white, cool underfoot even in the middle of summer, and unlike any other beach in Florida. Paired with the clear turquoise water of the Gulf, it’s no surprise Siesta Beach has been named the #1 beach in America more than once. For beach portraits, there is simply no better backdrop on the Gulf Coast.

Amanda travels to Siesta Key year-round for relaxed, unposed family beach sessions, senior portraits, and engagement photos. Whether you’re vacationing on Siesta Key or live in the Sarasota area, it pays to check availability early — sunset dates go fast.

Best Photo Spots on Siesta Key

Eight miles of shoreline, one famous beach — and a few quieter corners most visitors never find. These are the Siesta Key locations that photograph beautifully.

Siesta Beach

The famous main stretch — wide, flat, and endlessly white. Even on busy weeks there’s room to spread out near the water at sunset, and the shallow sandbars leave dreamy reflections as the tide goes out.

Turtle Beach

Siesta Key’s hidden gem — shell-flecked sand, taller dunes, and far fewer people. Ideal for couples and seniors who want a secluded, windswept look for their session.

Crescent Beach & Point of Rocks

At the quiet south end of Crescent Beach, Point of Rocks adds limestone outcroppings, tide pools, and swaying palms — the closest thing to a tropical island backdrop in the Sarasota area.

Siesta Key Village

Steps from the beach, the Village’s colorful storefronts and breezy lanes add a fun change of scenery mid-session — especially for senior portraits and engagement photos.

Getting to Siesta Key

  • Two bridges lead onto the Key — Siesta Drive on the north end and Stickney Point Road to the south
  • About 15 minutes from downtown Sarasota
  • Roughly an hour south of Tampa via I-75
  • Free parking at the main Siesta Beach lot — arrive early on weekends
  • The free Siesta Key Breeze trolley runs the length of the island into the evening

While You’re on Siesta Key…

Siesta Key Village

Grab breakfast tacos or an ice cream cone and browse the surf shops — the Village is an easy stroll from the main beach.

Sunday Drum Circle

A Siesta Key tradition — locals gather on Siesta Beach every Sunday about an hour before sunset with drums and dancing.

Siesta Key Farmers Market

Sunday mornings in the Village — local produce, fresh bread, art, and live music before a beach day.

Bike & Golf-Cart Rentals

The island is flat and cruiser-friendly — rent a bike or golf cart and explore from Turtle Beach to the north bridge.

Soft neutrals, creams, and light pastels photograph beautifully against Siesta Key’s white quartz sand and turquoise water. A detailed style guide is included with every session to make outfit planning easy.
Sunset dates fill quickly during spring break and the holidays, so booking four to six weeks ahead is ideal. Last-minute openings do come up — check availability and ask.
Gulf Coast storms usually pass quickly, so we watch the forecast together and make the call as your session approaches. If the weather won’t cooperate, we move your session to the next best available evening.
