Bean Point

The island’s famous north tip, where the Gulf meets Tampa Bay. Wide sandbars, shallow turquoise water, and the Sunshine Skyway on the horizon — Bean Point at sunset is pure magic.

Coquina Beach

A long, quiet stretch at the island’s south end, shaded by whispering Australian pines. The tree line adds a moody, windswept backdrop you won’t find on other Gulf beaches.

Manatee Public Beach

Historic Bridge Street

Getting to Anna Maria Island

  • Two bridges reach the island — Manatee Avenue (SR 64) into Holmes Beach and Cortez Road (SR 684) into Bradenton Beach
  • About 20 minutes west of Bradenton and 90 minutes from Tampa
  • Free parking at Manatee Public Beach, Coquina Beach, and Bayfront Park — arrive early in season
  • The free island trolley runs daily from Coquina Beach up to Pine Avenue
  • Plan extra drive time for sunset sessions on weekends — the beach bridges back up

When is the best time for photos on Anna Maria Island?

The last hour before sunset brings soft, warm light and pastel skies over the Gulf — and Bean Point’s sandbars glow at low tide. Sunrise on the bay side is a beautiful, quieter alternative.

Most sessions meet at the Bean Point beach access on the island’s north end or at Coquina Beach to the south. You’ll get simple parking and meeting directions before your session so there’s no guesswork.

Soft neutrals, whites, and gentle pastels suit the island’s white sand and Old-Florida cottages beautifully. A detailed style guide is included with every session to make outfit planning easy.

Island rentals book out months ahead, and sunset session dates do too — four to six weeks of lead time is ideal in season. Last-minute openings happen, so it never hurts to ask.

Gulf storms tend to blow through fast, so we watch the radar together and make the call as your session approaches. If the weather won’t cooperate, your session simply moves to the next best evening.
