Venice Beach

Venice Beach, Florida proper — the in-town classic at the end of Venice Avenue with pale sand, teal water, and a short stroll from downtown for an easy, breezy session.

Caspersen Beach

Venice’s wild child: dark fossil sand, driftwood, tall dunes, and hardly a building in sight. The moodiest, most dramatic backdrop for photos in south Sarasota County.

Venice Fishing Pier at Brohard Park

The 700-foot pier stretches into the Gulf at Brohard Park — shoot beneath its pilings at low tide for shadow-striped, editorial-feeling portraits.

The South Jetty

Granite boulders, passing sailboats, and dolphins riding the tide line where the jetties meet the Gulf — a favorite for couples at sunset.

Getting to Venice

  • About 25 minutes south of Sarasota via US 41 or I-75 (Jacaranda Boulevard exit)
  • Downtown and Venice Beach share the island — park once and walk both
  • Free parking lots at Venice Beach, Brohard Park, and Caspersen Beach
  • The South Jetty sits at the end of Tarpon Center Drive on the island’s north tip
  • Caspersen’s best fossil sand is a short walk south of its main boardwalk

When is the best time for photos in Venice, FL?

The hour before sunset paints Venice’s beaches in warm gold — and the pier’s silhouette looks incredible against the afterglow. Winter and spring bring the clearest evening skies.

Venice Beach and Caspersen Beach are the two go-to meeting spots, each with its own parking lot. You’ll have exact directions and a meeting pin before session day.

Light, breezy neutrals photograph beautifully against Venice’s pale sand — and deeper earth tones pop at Caspersen. A complete style guide is included when you book.

Aim for four to six weeks out, and earlier for February through April — Venice’s sunset calendar fills quickly in season. Short-notice dates occasionally open up, so ask.

Coastal showers usually move through fast, so we hold the decision until the forecast firms up. If the sky won’t cooperate, we reschedule for the next beautiful evening.
